Harris re-elected to House Republican leadership role

Rep. Paul Harris will continue to serve in his leadership position in the Washington State House Republican Caucus in 2021. In a virtual vote Harris, R-Vancouver, was re-elected by his colleagues today, to be the Caucus Chair.

“I’m grateful to my fellow Republican Caucus members for supporting me in this role,” said Harris. “It’s an honor to serve as Chair and I’m looking forward to the upcoming session.”

As Chair, Harris will preside over daily caucus meetings when bills, amendments and voting are discussed. As a member of the leadership team, Harris will also continue to help shape and promote the legislative priorities supported by the Republican Caucus.

“This session is going to be extremely important for our great state,” said Harris. “We have so many pressing issues and the pandemic has affected every aspect of our lives. This session will also be unprecedented, as we move to a mostly remote format. I will do everything in my power to help ensure our caucus meetings and House floor sessions run smoothly,” added Harris.

This will be Harris’s second term as Caucus Chair. He previously served as House Republican Whip.

The 2021 session is scheduled to begin Monday, January 11.
